Police are investigating a suspected drowning that occurred on Tuesday at Choc Beach.

Saint Lucia Fire Service spokeswoman Stacy Joseph said at about 10:50 a.m., personnel from Castries Headquarters responded to an emergency call at Choc, Castries.

“The responding officers found a male individual lying on the ground being attended to by a medical professional,” Joseph said.

She disclosed that the responders transferred him to an ambulance for assessment and continued emergency treatment.

However, the SLFS Communications Officer said the patient had no vital signs.

Joseph explained that the ambulance transported the patient to a medical facility, where his condition remained unchanged.
