GIS:-To Mark Its Tenth Anniversary, Saint Lucia’s Commerce Department is Planning to make this Exhibition Grander than Its Predecessors.
The Taiwan-Saint Lucia Trade Partnership Exhibition will celebrate ten years of bilateral cooperation in November.
Jonathan Allain, Business Development Officer with the Small Enterprise Development Unit, said over the years the objectives of the exhibition have been met.
“The objective of the show is to give our business persons a face out there. So there are a lot of persons with products and with services but the public doesn’t really know about it. The aim is to give them a platform where the general public will come, see their products and services in hope of doing business with them. So far, we’ve had a number of persons who have made a number of leads. We have a number of persons who are in the supermarkets now who were previously not in the supermarkets and were not at other major outlets.”
Allain said the planning committee intends to recognize and celebrate business partners.
“The tenth year we’re looking to go bigger. Traditionally, in the past, we’ve had sixty – sometimes less but we’ve increased – we’re hoping to have seventy persons participating. We’re hoping to celebrate our businesses in a grander manner. So the planning committee has not decided as yet how we’re going to do it but we’re hoping something big will happen this year.”
The official planning meeting for the exhibition was held on Monday, Aug 14. Persons interested in participating should register with the Department of Commerce, Industry, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs. The Saint Lucia-Taiwan Partnership Trade Exhibition is just one item on the calendar for Business Month, which will be observed in November by the Government of Saint Lucia.
