Elks presents school supplies to students

Press Release:-During the month of August leading up to the new school year commencing September 2017, the Elks City of Castries Credit Union presented twelve (12) school bags with school supplies to the students of its membership.

This is the first initiative of its kind and the idea was brought about by a member of staff Natasha Vitte’ who thought that we should add some measure of excitement to the annual Back to School Loan promotion and by extension assistance to our members, since many at times the value of the loan taken was not adequate to supply the student for the entire year.

With the Board of Directors overwhelming approval, the deserving members were selected from members who had applied for the annual Back to School Loan promotion. Lucky members were drawn by the membership during working hours and presented by Director Winsbert Regis.

Twelve (12) students received the schoolbags with school supplies. THE Credit Union continues to advocate that, “As a credit union, we are founded on the philosophy of ‘people helping people,’ and we stand behind the principles that promote human development and social responsibility,” he added. “Offering these scholarships is just one way the Elks Credit Union adds value for our members and assists them with the increasing cost of higher education while emphasizing our commitment to their financial success.”

Smh.. .what about the many students..that cannot even afford to buy 1 book….let’s start looking out for the less fortunate…cause it seems every good deed a company do out thier…they use it as a mean of advertisement for themself…..which is wrong under the creator eyes.
