Senior citizen pronounced dead after collapsing near Castries Market

An unidentified senior citizen collapsed near the Castries Market Monday morning  and was later pronounced dead, it has been reported.

The incident is said to have occurred at around 9:30 am.

The man, estimated to be in his sixties or seventies, is reported to have collapsed after leaving a washroom.

An ambulance was summoned but according to eyewitnesses, the senior citizen was unresponsive.

CPR was administered and the man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    Oh oh, poor man. To die like that in the city. I always say that when my mama and papa gets old im gonna do all their errands and that’s the truth. I just need God to keep me alive still to help them.

    Nothing poor about that. He lived to be in his sixties possible seventies, hope he had a good run. Hope he loved and was given love in return, hope he enjoyed his stay on this rotating rock travelling through space to where we do not know.

    My mum is diabetic and collapse once by the market because her sugar level was low , from since that time we have never allowed her to leave the house alone.

    Unfortunately there are pictures circulating on social media showing the deceased in a sitting position with his glazed-over dead eyes staring towards the heavens! smh. So insensitive.
