Shot bandit in police custody

A Ciceron man who allegedly attempted to rob a citizen on Micoud Street Sunday night was shot by a uniformed police officer who was on duty at the time, hospitalised briefly and is currently in custody, law enforcement sources have disclosed.

According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, the shooting occurred at around 8.45 pm.

The Ciceron resident ran away after committing the robbery and was shot in the region of the calf, a law enforcement source said.

A search of the man’s person revealed that he was carrying a firearm, it was disclosed.

The man was expected to be charged Tuesday.

      Though I try to understand the reasoning behind such comments, I am happy that the police do only as much as necessary in such circumstances. Really, it goes towards the state of mind of our law enforcement officers. So much bad press in times past.. Did they really deserve the lynching dished out?

    If it was you’ll son or relative would you have said shoot to kill ??? I swear you’ll are the most ignorant people ever.. do you’ll actually know what happen or what the officer did.?? For Christ sake he wasn’t even in uniform. They like to shoot out of uniform.. everyone have the right to an opinion but THINK FIRST
