Charles: People frustrated with ‘the system’

Nancy Charles, the Administrative Attache to Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, has  declared that too many people are frustrated with the system when they attempt to get business done.

Charles spoke following an announcement by Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, Monday, that she will be taking on an expanded role.

She told St Lucia Times that  the new area of focus would be for her to assist  persons in the implementation of either private or government assisted projects,  being a link or  liaison person they can contact.

“They are frustrated with the back and forth, they are frustrated that they do not get what they need at the particular time and so my role is to assist them and to help facilitate that and to make things a little bit better for for all Saint Lucians,” Charles stated.

“What you find happening a lot is that sometimes investors who come into this country or even our business persons as well who need some type of assistance, sometimes they have to call various ministries, various agencies – sometimes they do not get the necessary assistance they need and they end up coming to the Office of the Prime Minister to get reprieve or to get a document finalised or signed,” she explained.

According to Charles, the situation has limited efforts at implementing government projects.

Charles said she will also provide feedback to the Prime Minister and the cabinet of ministers.

SMH! Nancy your day will come. A woman with barely 2 CXCs and who never saw the inside of a University to be holding such an high grade position? Not even a first degree you have? I know people with Masters degrees in Project Management and years of experience who would be better qualified. Tanto tanto Nancy

For years we’ve been disappointed by those with ‘doctorates’ , maybe it’s time to put someone in place who can deliver. Nancy, don’t let us down, prove these naysayers wrong.

Let’s see if she will deliver the goods. It’s true we have a poor performance in implementation of projects hence we have lost millions of dollars from friendly government. I know that for an undisputed fact. So Nancy I am watching.

People are frustrated with that giant pot hole called the beausejour stretch. U should be ashamed of ur government as it is the road to ur home in grace as well. Check all the money URL spent on preparing the land for a race track and a stretch of road less than a hundred meters away in that condition.

Politics, boy politics! In any event Nancy did not sing in vain for supper. She worked hard for the party and now like all other political opportunist she is reaping her rewards. As for her capabilities and qualifications, well that is not considered in the political arena. As long as you have the courage to stand on a political platform and scream and shout and spur nonsense in a microphone you good to go! Nonetheless I wish her all the best. Just one word of caution, don’t let the position and money get to your head and become too swell headed like most others that have gone before you. Political appointments are very unpredictable
