Martinique: Saint Lucian arrested for murder, kidnapping

Saint Lucian, Roger Avril, has been arrested in Martinique in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Optician, Marion Genin, according to Martinique 1ere.

Avril was held on Monday by a special police unit conducting a security operation in an area known for trafficking and drug use, Martinique 1ere reported.

Thirty-six year old Marion Genin disappeared on the night of September 3rd to 4th, 2008 at the Diamant.

Her body was found a few weeks later in a field in Sainte-Luce.

The victim’s body had numerous fractures of the skull and other marks of violence.

Roger Avril and three other Saint Lucians: Dany Francis, Roger Hilaire and Simon Cherubin, became suspects in the crime when law enforcement officials found that their photographs had been left in the woman’s stolen camera.

Francis, Hilaire and Cherubin, were some years ago arrested in Saint Lucia and extradited to Martinique to face trial.

Those that live by the sword, die by the sword. Not wishful – so it should be. They will have enough time to say sorry before they go to meet their maker. It would be a good time for them to advise some other rebellious youth.
