Senior citizen, fireman among injured in accidents

A senior citizen and a man who is said to be a fireman, were among person injured in separate accidents Tuesday in Vieux Fort, eyewitnesses have reported.

According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, the male senior citizen was hit by a pickup truck near the entrance to Hewanorra International airport at around 5 pm.

He sustained multiple injuries and was transported to St Jude Hospital via ambulance.

It is reported that some half an hour later, a  three vehicle collision near True Value Building and Hardware Supplies on the Vieux Fort-Laborie Highway, resulted in injuries to an individual, identified as a fireman, who was at the time driving his private vehicle.

The injured man was transported to hospital via ambulance.

The occupants of the other vehicles appeared not to have sustained any serious injuries, it is reported.
