PRESS RELEASE:-Salsa Saint Lucia are in the final preparation stages for Salsa Extravaganza 2017 its annual international dance congress. The first Salsa Extravaganza was held in November 2013 and consisted of a spectacular dance exhibition by local, regional and international Latin dancers, followed by an electrifying Latin dance party. It was by far the biggest event of its kind ever hosted in Saint Lucia. The unprecedented support, attendance and the level of local interest far exceeded expectations, which led Salsa Saint Lucia to make this an annual event. This year contingencies from Barbados, Martinique and Trinidad will be joining us as well as patrons from the United States.
Salsa Extravaganza will take place over the course of three days this coming weekend; Friday September 29th to Sunday 1st October. It promises to be a magnificent showcase of Latin dances, classes and parties.
The calendar of events for Salsa Extravaganza is as follows:
- Friday September 29th 9pm- Cultural themed Welcome Party Rock Studio, Rodney Bay
- Saturday September 30th & Sunday October 1st 9am – 1pm – Instructional Dance Workshops Coco Palm Hotel & Rock Studio
- Sunday October 1st 9pm- International Dance Show and Gala Party (Indies Night Club)
- Sunday October 1st 2 pm – Island Adventure Tour
- Sunday October 1st 9pm: Cool Down Party: Rock Studio, Rodney Bay
Salsa Saint Lucia, a local non – profit Dance organization has developed a reputation over the years for delivering the ultimate best in dance instruction and parties. Salsa Saint Lucia activities take place all year long and includes but is not limited to; dance instruction classes, charity parties, dance parties and dance workshops. These events are all in keeping with the organizations mandate to promote health, fitness, creative and social development and the tourism industries in St. Lucia through dance.
This year the experienced and highly skilled instructors who will be performing and conducting the dance workshops are regionally and internationally acclaimed dance champions and masters in their field. Some of the headliners are Melanie Castillo and Elvis Collado dance champions and Latin dance masters from New York, Shaka Brown one of the most sought after dancers in the world and Ivana Adler from Washington DC, Laura Mohammed and Shea Best Bachata champions from Trinidad & Tobago, Leon Brewster and Aliyah Alexander dance champions also from Trinidad & Tobago, Christophe and Christelle Urban Kizomba gurus from Martinique, Frederick Phillipy and Christin Morgin Kizomba/semba dancers also from Martinique and Jeff Jerome semba king from New York.
Salsa Extravaganza offers exciting dimensions to its Patrons in the form of various Latin & Kizomba parties that take place throughout the entertaining and fun filled weekend. The public is invited to come enjoy magnetic Latin Kizomba Caribbean fusion type music from various genres played by our talented local and regional DJs. Salsa Extravaganza climaxes on the Saturday September 30th at 9pm with an Outstanding International Dance Show & Gala Party at Indies Night Club in Rodney Bay. The International dance show consists of a dance showcase with remarkable performances from our skilled international and regional dancers. The show is followed by an electrifying Latin/ Kizomba dance party.
This year Salsa Saint Lucia has added another exciting event to the Salsa Extravaganza schedule in the form of an island adventure tour. Salsa Saint Lucia is exposing our visitors to the splendor of our island paradise and immersing them in local St. Lucia culture.
