Bail granted for St. Lucian national facing sex charges in St. Vincent

(IWSVG) On Tuesday, a St. Lucian national was granted EC$7,000 bail in connection with 2 sex charges.

The male national was charged with entering a home with the intent of assaulting a female who was inside.

He was also charged in connection with a separate incident with intent to commit the offence of indecent assault on another female.

Both alleged incidents occurred on the same date of October 27 at Clare Valley, St. Vincent.

The prosecutor, Shamrock Pierre objected to bail indicating that the accused could easily escape bearing in mind that he is a St. Lucian national and the St. Vincent boarders are porous.

If granted bail, he noted that he may not return to the country for his trial.

The response of the defense was that the national came to St. Vincent and the Grenadines legally and “hasn’t broken any law, per se.”

In addition to the bail sum, the court ordered the accused to report to the Central Police Station in Kingstown on Mondays and Fridays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and to surrender his travel documents.

The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Family Court for hearing on Nov. 7.

Lol yes indeed it is nastiness and it’s so embarrassing to say I am a st Lucian when I travel. They are doing so many things and yes some look at you differently knowing you are also a Lucian. What are the world getting to?? Correction. What are Lucians men turning into. It’s really sad. My God is still great. My our souls be forgiven
