PRESS RELEASE: Castries, Saint Lucia, November 8th, 2017 – The 27th Annual Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Swim Championships are set to splash off in Saint Lucia this weekend, November 10th to 12th at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre, Gros Islet. Team Saint Lucia and the Saint Lucia Amateur Swimming Association (SLASA) are being supported by regional telecommunications leaders, Flow, as the hosts aim to beat Greandad to a record 14th team title.
Swimmers from Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be gifted with bags, water bottles, and bandannas from Flow. The meet will also be broadcast live on Winners TV, and will be online via the Winners TV Facebook page, thanks to the provision of broadband internet infrastructure from Flow, which also facilitated broadcast of the OECS Trials earlier this year.
Flow is also providing the organising committee for the OECS Championships with tents, mobile credit, and advertising support via traditional media and social media, and an Alcatel U5 from Flow will be raffled to patrons, who will be able to take advantage of specials on handsets and Top Up during the course of the meet – and qualify for entry into the Flow ‘Extra’ Christmas Promotion where they can win an amazing Smart Home Bundle, Free Service for 1 year plus loads of cash.
Saint Lucia’s team members range from 8 and under to the 18 and over age group. SLASA President Eddie Hazel has expressed his confidence in the team bringing the trophy home for the 14th time over 27 years, and has called on Saint Lucians to come out in large numbers to support the team at the weekend and be exposed to the sport of swimming.
