Fears grow for Laborie mother missing since Friday

A search has been launched for a Laborie woman who has been missing since Friday, authorities say.

Police fear that Saadia Byron, 32, may have come to harm because of items they have recovered.

Earlier reports suggesting that Byron’s body was found in a river have been refuted by relatives and police.

According to the missing woman’s brother Chris Byron, Saadia left home to collect baby supplies from a bus driver in Vieux Fort.

The last time she spoke to relatives, she was on a bus heading back to Laborie.

Family members became concerned and raised the alarm when she failed to return home after several hours.

“We all are devastated,” Chris said. “We all want to find out what’s going on. We all want some closure to this thing. Every family wants, dead or alive, to have their loved one back, he added.

Saadia Byron is the mother of two girls and a boy, ages 7, 12, and 15 years old.

St Lucia Times understands that law enforcement forces have discovered some items believed to belong to the woman but are tight lipped as to what they are.

A group of relatives and friends is currently walking through the area to search for the missing mother.

that is such a solvable case; someone just say that someone was threatening her. who is he? why has he not been brought in for questioning? and if she say she on bus, what bus?

I thought she was coming from a graduation rehearsal when she went missing. Isn’t that what the news report on CHOICE said last evening? Something doesn’t add up. Either way I do hope she’s safe.

Too many sad stories. Hopefully the young lady may be found so her relatives can get some form of relief. These murderers’ inner being is overly dark and irredeemable. The world is a better place without them. An all out assault should be launched against all murderers starting yesterday. No resources should be spared, no stone left unturned until we rid the society of these vermin. For St. Lucia to be a tranquil and peaceful place again, a place where people can sleep with their windows open again, Love must replace Hate, Selflessness must replace Individualism, Generosity must replace Greed, Compassion must replace Indifference and Moderation must replace Excesses. May Peace and Love reign again on this land.
