Workshop for Soap Manufacturers on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

PRESS RELEASE: Castries, November 10th, 2017; The Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs will be hosting a two-day workshop on “Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for Soap Manufacturers” at the Saint Lucia Manufacturers Association – Conference Room, on November 14th to 15th, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.

The objective of this workshop is to introduce a system for ensuring that soap and other cosmetic products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. Good Manufacturing Practices are therefore designed to minimize the risks involved in production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product. Consequently, the Department of Commerce recognizes that training in this area is relevant as it leads to multiple operational benefits, such as, fewer errors, reduced waste and more efficient performance.

To this end, the Department of Commerce invites soap manufacturers interested in participating in the  workshop  to  register  with  the  Department  of  Commerce  by  Monday, November 13th, 2017.

For further information and to register for the workshop, please contact Ms. Cindy Eugene, Marketing Specialist at or 468- 4216/468-4238/285- 4677.
