PRESS RELEASE: Vernessa Hughes and Nessa Raymond will be packing their bags soon, as they get ready to indulge in the “greatest show on earth” Trinidad’s carnival, thanks to Campari. Ms. Hughes and Ms. Raymond are the grand prize winners of Campari’s sensational “Road to Trini Carnival 2018” promotion, launched in St. Lucia, November last year.

The Campari Road to Trini Carnival 2018 promotion, gave consumers the opportunity to enter, by simply purchasing a bottle of Campari or Campari cocktail and receiving a Campari experience card with an entry code. Consumers were then required to text in the code to the number provided, or download the Campari XPerience App and input it there. The winners were then selected randomly via a computerized system.

On Friday, January 5, 2018, Campari officially presented the two winners with their packages at Peter & Company Distribution (PCD), Cul De Sac.

Vernessa Hughes who runs a bar with her partner in Gros Islet, says that “at first she was in disbelief when she got the call about winning. I thought it was a prank call when the representative from Peter & Company Distribution called to inform me that I had won, so it took a while to sink in despite having entered several times. She added that she is super-excited about going to Trinidad. “I have been to Trinidad’s carnival before, but it has been twenty years since the last time. So now I am really grateful for this opportunity to go back. Thanks to Campari I can really celebrate and enjoy one of the best carnivals in the world,” she expressed. When asked what was her favorite way to enjoy Campari Ms. Hughes replied, “with Cranberry juice!”

Similarly for Nessa Raymond, this was the best gift she could have received coming into the New Year and she too, intends on making the most of it. “I love carnival and I love Campari, so the two coming together is a great way to kick off my year and I know I will have a blast in Trinidad,” she says. “Campari on the rocks,” she says is her favored choice of drink.

Denver Alcee, Campari Brand Manager at PCD, said that “he was thrilled to see the overwhelming number of persons who participated in the “Road to Trini Carnival 2018” promotion. “From the phenomenal launch party with Bunji Garlin in November, 2017, to the end of the draw in December, 2017, Saint Lucians were really behind this Campari promotion. For that, I would like to say a big heartfelt thank you,” he says. “It has been an intriguing year for us at Campari and we look forward to bringing more exciting Campari promotions and innovations to Saint Lucians in the coming years,” Alcee added.

The two winners along with their guests, will be joining others from the Bahamas, Grenada, Belize and Trinidad & Tobago, for Trinidad Carnival 2018, which culminates on the 12th and 13th February, 2018. Their prizes include: airline tickets; accommodation; costumes for the Carnival band Tribe in the Rogue section; in addition to VIP access to all Campari events, where they will be celebrated by the world’s best known and most stylish aperitif Campari!
