Senior citizen found dead at Pavee

A senior citizen was found dead Wednesday evening in a house at Pavee where he lived alone, neighbours have reported.

The deceased has been identified as Albert St Pierre, 69.

One neighbour told St Lucia Times that the deceased apparently had a problem with his heart and was always complaining about his chest.

‘Every morning around after eight, we pass there – we shouting him because that’s my son good friend. So we calling him – ‘Albert! Albert! Albert!’ This morning we passed minutes to nine and we not hearing him, so I find that strange,’ a male who lives nearby recalled.

He said he concluded that St Pierre had gone into the City.

But the neighbour disclosed that  it was after 5 pm and St Pierre did not respond to persons calling for him outside his home and knocking on his door.

He said  that as a result, he entered the home of the deceased through the unlocked door and found the senior citizen lying on the floor near his stove.

Persons in the area told St Lucia Times they do not suspect foul play in the death.

We don’t treat the elderly right. Many of them suffer from neglect and abandonment. They are treated like derelict vehicles. After they have given yeoman service to the country, too many of these aged citizens are left to fend for themselves and regarded as useless and just mere nuisances. Some of these people are so knowledgeable about our culture, history, bush medicines and general life’s experiences. They can be used in schools and colleges as human encyclopedias.

Spot on Vibz, spot on but it looks like the treatment is being handed out to the youth.

That is true. They get grown and move along. Some of them with the life they’ve even worst off than the senior citizens. Really sad.

New Testament Verse of the Day:

He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.”
