PRESS RELEASE: Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) conducted a two-day training seminar in Saint Lucia on the 17th and 18th of April to raise awareness on health and safety in the workplace, best practices in block making, ready mix concrete and concrete paving solutions.
More than 50 stakeholders were in attendance including contractors, distributors, managers and sales persons attended the event which was held at Auberge Seraphine in Castries and the NSDC Building in Vieux Fort.
On both days the facilitators led a highly interactive session with the audience which was well received. TTLI’s General Manager, Mr. Jaris Liburd briefed the audience on the company’s background and the objectives of the training session. Mr. Ricardo Garcia, the facilitator for health and safety in the construction sector presented on health and safety, personal value, risk assessment, work behavior, lifestyle and wellness. This was followed by Concrete and Aggregates consultant Dr. Robin Osborne, who enlightened the audience with a presentation on the general best practice of block making, mix & design optimization and best practices in ready-mix operation. Ms Avaleen Mooloo also presented on concrete paving solutions for construction workers and engineers.
