Family in shock after fatal shooting on Jeremie Street

A sister of the 30 year old man who was fatally shot on Jeremie Street is reported to be under medical care, following the homicide on Sunday.

“The family is not doing good at all – the last sister, she at the health centre right now,” Marcia George, another sister of the deceased told St Lucia Times.

George described her late brother – Dwayne William, alias ‘Zoe Zoe’, as a ‘nice’  and ‘friendly’ individual.

She told St Lucia Times she was not aware that the resident of Bois Den, Jacmel, had any enemies.

George disclosed that she last spoke with her brother just days before, when he informed her that he had landed a job.

“Nobody put anybody on this earth – they should not have the right to take the person’s life,” she asserted.

“What goes around comes around. What you do to somebody, you have to expect it to happen to you,” George explained.

She said that according to information she received, William went to Castries to get lunch from a female sibling who asked him to go to the Castries market to buy a mobile telephone ‘top-up.’

“Somebody run up to my sister with blood telling my sister they shoot my brother by the market. The person just walk up to him and shoot him,” George recounted.

A police statement on the fatal shooting said law enforcers received a report about the incident about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018.

“Dwayne William was on Jeremie Streeet, Castries, when he allegedly sustained a gunshot wound to the face. He was conveyed to the Victoria Hospital where he succumbed due to the injury sustained,” the police statement noted.

A post mortem examination is scheduled for a subsequent date.

Saint Lucia has so far recorded seven homicides for the year.

Excuse the double negatives but don’t tell me that nobody didn’t see nothing at all.
Those gunmen just live to kill someone another day until someone or the law stops them in their tracks. Expose and uncloak the gunmen amongst us because the life you save may be yours.

There was a RSLPF/POLICE….CCTV camera located in the corner of Jeremie street and Previously Singer Store…that would make it directly adjacent to where Homicide #7 happened. … it may not stop the homicide but cudda securely assisted in solving it … But it along with so many located in Catries & VFort don’t work ..thanks in part to Minister of National Security. ..Francis …

The police have to start giving small rewards if they have to start catching these murderers.

You’re an idiot, people are cowards and selfish, they won’t risk their lives to save others,
      regardless of rewards.

What is idiotic with the person’s suggestion about a monetary reward for information leading to the apprehension of the killer? Some countries do exactly that. Disagreeing with someone doesn’t make that person an idiot. No one has a monopoly on ideas or commonsense.

Mentally ill, your brand of thinking is part of the problem that will allow this to continue, and not the solution to solve the problem.
