Trinidad Express:- A Laventille man, charged with four counts of sexual penetration against a 17-year-old girl appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Friday.
Kwesi Jemmott 33, a contractor, of Village Council Street, Laventille, appeared before Magistrate Aida Mohammed in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court.
The matter was adjourned to September 6 and Jemmott was granted $150,000 bail with surety.
The accused is alleged to have committed the offences during the period August 2016 and January 2018, in the Laventille and San Juan districts.
A report was made to the police on June 6 by the victim’s mother and led to Jemmott being arrested on Wednesday by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU).
Investigations were supervised by Insp. Gideon Dickson, while Jemmott was charged by Cpl (Ag.) Yohan McKain, all of CPU, POS Division, on Thursday 28th June, 2018.
