Special police team dealing with vehicle thefts

Police Commissioner, Severin Moncherry, has announced that a special police team has been assigned to deal with an upsurge in vehicle thefts.

Moncherry recalled that when a vehicle was stolen from the Morne recently, it was recovered within hours.

However, he explained that some vehicle owners wait too long before they report thefts to the police.

“We are calling on members of the public – if you see strange vehicles; if you see vehicles driving about with strange plates or without plates, or strange vehicles in your area, you need to inform the police.”

“Let us not wait until it’s you, or you are the one – it knocks on your door, to give information. We need the information,” Moncherry told reporters.

In response to a question, he disclosed that he was  not aware  that there were scrapyards but had heard the reports and would have the matter investigated.

“Most definitely, we will crack down on that,” the police commissioner asserted.

Why would the Commissioner mention the scrapyards now? Couldn’t he wait until they roll on the guys. By the time he gets there, the yards will be closed.
    How smart of him!!!!

There needs to be heavier fines for car theft. The fines placed upon urinating in the city and entering a carnival band iillegally is $1000 each, Charges which are not necessary . A high charge for auto theft is justice

The commissioner mentioned it because he want the people to run away, leaving everything behind so that nobody will be shot and killed, so that everything could be resolved peacefully

Mr. Commissioner, don’t be so soft with these guys; you have to fight fire with fire. CRIMINALS IN THE COUNTRY,, CRIMINALS IN THE CITY, CRIMINALS EVERYWHERE. Deal with them accordingly! or else they will deal with you!

New Testament Verse of the Day:
But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

@Mr seraphin that won’t resolve the problem at all, the thieves will jus open another scrapyard elsewhere. what the police shud hav done in that case was to follow the guy in an unmarked car so that he could lead them to where he was goin an then apprehend him an whoever is involved but it’s good they caught that guy now all they need to do is make an example out of him.

You must also keep in mind that some of these thieves have no drivers license; therefore, other law abiding drivers and unsuspecting predestrians are also are risk of being hurt or killed. Stuffing penalties are needed before these thugs take over your island🙏🙏🙏🙏😂
