The Police Welfare Association (PWA), is concerned about a probe that has been ordered into alleged insubordination towards National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis, by a Woman Police Constable (WPC), reliable sources have told St Lucia Times.
The probe was ordered by the Police Commissioner in response to a formal complaint, it has been reported.
The complaint is said to have been made after the WPC, who was the immigration officer at the time, allegedly said she had no time for the minister when she was informed by a volunteer from the Office of the Prime Minister that Francis was on the line and wanted to speak with her.
The volunteer had reportedly called the minister after the WPC is said to have been unwilling to cooperate in fast tracking the entry of several Martinique nationals who arrived here by ferry during the Carnival festivities.
The volunteer was at the ferry terminal to assist the visitors.
According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, the PWA executive plans to discuss the matter at a meeting later this week.
