Trinidad Express:– A vehicle stolen at gunpoint from a woman who stopped after being deliberately hit was recovered 30 minutes later by officers of the Maloney Crime Patrol Unit, in the Arima district.
The woman was proceeding south along Windy Hill Road, Arouca, around 9p.m, on Saturday in her Axio Corolla , when a vehicle which was proceeding in the opposite direction hit her vehicle.
The woman got out of her vehicle to survey the damage and was speaking with the driver of the other vehicle, when an armed assailant walked up behind her. She said the driver of the other vehicle then demanded that she hand over her car keys.
The first suspect then drove off with her vehicle, while the second suspect entered the other car and also drove off.
A report was made to the Arouca Police Station and a wireless transmission issued about the incident. PCs Lennon Lezama and Phillip, both of the Maloney Crime Patrol Unit, who were on patrol looking for the stolen vehicle spotted and intercepted it at Martinez Trace, Arima, some 30 minutes after the report was made.
Two suspects, who were in the car at the time, escaped into the bushes.
