NATIONAL PROTEST SET FOR ANNIVERSARY OF ST JUDE FIRE

Press Release:–  The Saint Lucia Labour Party invites all patriotic Saint Lucians to a march and mass protest rally on Sunday 9th September 2018 in Castries to protest against the Allen Chastanet led UWP Government whose policies are bleeding this country and destroying our institutions one by one.  September 9th is the anniversary of the unfortunate St. Jude Hospital fire.

Since June 2016 the people of Saint Lucia have been subjected to the reckless incompetence and dictatorial attitude of Prime Minister Chastanet and Members of his Cabinet. We have witnessed with alarm, the selling out of Saint Lucian lands and patrimony to foreign interests; an ever-deepening health crisis with the failure to operationalise the country’s two major hospitals; corruption and bad governance, rising unemployment and gross mismanagement of the economy.  The UWP that promised the people of Saint Lucia, Five to Stay Alive, and “ching ching” in their pockets, if elected to office, is now clearly and visibly taking our country down a path of destruction.

We as a people need to stop them.

The Saint Lucia Labour Party is calling upon all Saint Lucians to come together and make our voices heard in protest against a clueless and vindictive government.  You must not remain silent and uncounted when the future of our country and our children is in peril from this UWP administration.

Protesters are expected to start assembling on the Vigie Playing Field from 2.30 p.m. on Sunday 9th September and then to march along the John Compton Highway to the Market Steps for a massive protest rally to be addressed by speakers representing various sectors of our society.

Too much bobol happened at St. Judes. It was designed for milking the taxpayers. SLP needs to keep quiet and let credible independents carry on the protest march. No not political prostitute Christopher Hunte (aka Think Forward etc) or Catherine waiting for NGO money Sealys. To be serious political players need to get out of this and let a proper forensic audit take place alongside a strategic plan constructed by civil society’s finest minds.

Why on Sunday? Are these guys kidding me? The Chastanet Administration won’t feel it, to have a successful protest, it must be done on a working day. Close down the country. When Chastanet and the UWP marched against the Labour administration regarding the fuel price which they lied about, it was done on a working day. Seriously guys, grow some balls.

While i would like to see our St. Jude hospital back on stream, let me remind all St. Lucians that the SLP spent 5 years in office after the fire, and didn’t give us back our hospital, 5 years; While i don’t support what is taking place in my country today, i will not match for that as yet!.

HIf it’s about St.Jude why is the March in Castries? Let’s get a March in the south and on a week day too. Also we blame the govt( SLP, uwp) for the state sjh is in, but it’s not only the govt that has to be blamed. The management of sjh plays a vital role in that. They accepted and tolerated what sjh sjh become. Also the govt and unions need to look into sjh thoroughly to see the what is happening to it’s workers and the very poor , deplorable conditions that staff have to endure. The place is infested with ants and millipedes, making one’s skin crawl. The place is being cleaned but yet you feel the filth. Help! Help! Please help us at sjh. We need a new sjh but above all a new management . Please we can’t take it anymore and if something doesn’t happen soon, she might be a thing of the past.

All SLP want is to get back in power because they miss the St Jude bobol money and the largess. They using y’all foolish hacks. And the coonoomoonoo above that said uwp never laid a brick is talking crap. Who do you think hired Cyril Donelly construction to work on St Jude’s until Kenny put sadoo to launder all the funds? All you just talking s–t and expect to sound credible.
