$5,000 Reward For Information Leading To Arrest Of Car Part Thieves

The owner of a Suzuki Swift is offering a reward of $5,000 to anyone with information leading to arrest of individuals in possession of  parts stolen from the vehicle.

The owner believes that the parts were removed from the car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The vehicle, which was rented from him, was parked in the La Croix Maingot area at the time.

Thieves removed several parts of the car including the doors, battery and stereo although the car had a built in alarm system.

It is believed that the bandits were disturbed during the theft, since the vehicle’s radiator and front bumper were left behind.

The vehicle owner told St Lucia Times that he has on two other occasions in the past had his vehicles stripped of parts.

He expressed the view that citizens may either wittingly or unwittingly be supporting car thefts by buying parts from unauthorised dealers.

The latest incident is the first reported instance this year of a vehicle being stripped.

Last year there was a sharp spike in the theft and stripping of vehicles.

In at least two instances last year where the police recovered stolen vehicles, the virtual complainants declined to pursue court action against the suspects.

Persons with information about the latest incident have been asked to call 518 0923

Royal SLU Police Farce here’s a tip for you. Go around to various garages asking for parts for X or Y vehicle known to have been stolen. If the owners have no paper trail for ownership of said parts…

    • You so right I know of a police involved in that and the more the report is made always after the evidence is gone police come I’m beginning to wonder if the link is made to say we got a call and the culprit says I’m done so come search now
