Saint Lucia police Tuesday formally arrested and charged a sixty year old man of Tete Chemin, Millet, for causing the death of seventy year old Saint Lucia businessman, Renato Venturi.
According to police, the suspect they arrested and charged is Gerald Primus Paul.
Venturi was killed on October 10, 2020 at his home, Belmar Lane, the Morne, Castries.
His wife, Cheryl Venturi, 68, also came under attack and had to be hospitalised.
Police Superintendent George Nicholas told reporters that previously, Gerald Paul was also charged for the attempted murder of a female, related to the Venturi incident.
Last month, police had issued a wanted bulletin for Paul.
At the time, law enforcement described Paul, alias ‘Italion’ as a ‘person of interest’ in the police investigation into the death restauranteur Renato Venturi
