The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) has reported that an adult and a child were injured in a collision between a private vehicle and a minibus on the Morne, Castries, Thursday afternoon.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
A Fire Service official told Saint Lucia Times that the accident occurred about 3.00 PM.
The injured are reported to have been conveyed to hospital via private transport.
According to information from the Fire Service, the motor car was heading up the Morne from Castries while the minibus was travelling in the opposite direction.
“The right front wheel of the car got dislodged which caused it to veer into the path of the oncoming minibus and the impact threw the car down an embankment,” a Fire Service official explained.
The official told St Lucia Times that the accident occurred a short distance away from the Morne View Point between the entrance to the Governor General’s official residence and the intersection between the Morne and La Toc roads.
