Gros Islet Police seized an AK-47 assault rifle, drugs and ammunition during a Christmas Eve day operation.
Law enforcement officials say the haul consisted of the AK-47 rifle, 37 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, 26 rounds of .40 ammunition, cannabis resin and a quantity of compressed marijuana.
Officers say they made the find at Pigeon Point, Gros Islet, about 4.00 pm.
It’s the second seizure of an AK-47 rifle this year by Gros Islet police.
On September 11, Gros Islet officers with the help of the SSU executed a search warrant on a property at Bois D’ Orange.
They found an AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.
Kent Teddy Gilbert was later charged in connection with the discovery.
