Ambulance involved in collision

An ambulance belonging to the Gros Islet polyclinic was involved in a collision with another vehicle on June 13, 2016.

The collision occurred near the Jn Marie Gas station on the Castries Gros Islet highway.

The ambulance was transporting a patient to Victoria Hospital, according to information obtained by the Times.


As a result of the incident, it is reported that another ambulance – this time from the Saint Lucia Fire Service, had to be summoned to continue the patient’s transfer to Victoria Hospital.

The incident happened after 11:00 am.

The Gros Islet polyclinic ambulance is currently of commission.

The Times has been informed that it is the only ambulance the polyclinic has to transport seriously ill patients to Victoria Hospital.
