AmeriCares Medicines & Medical Supplies Assistance Program

AmeriCares is an emergency response and global health organization committed to saving lives and building healthier futures for people in crisis in the United States and around the world.

AmeriCares has been providing medical supplies and medicines through a joint partnership between Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc., St. Jude’s Hospital and the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Health & Wellness from September 2015.

To date AmeriCares has provided approximately Eight Million United States Dollars’ (US$8,000,000.00) worth of medicines and medical supplies which is used at all public health facilities island wide.

As part of Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. and AmeriCares ongoing efforts to provide better access to health care for marginalized persons, specifically women and children, an agreement was signed with International Contraceptive Access (ICA) of Finland for the provision of free IUD’s for women.

The first shipment of IUD’s valued at approximately Sixty Thousand United States Dollars (US$60,000.00) will be available at all public health facilities from February 2017.

We continue to work and thank the Management of St. Jude’s Hospital for partnering with us and facilitating distribution of supplies for the benefit of all persons who access health care via public health facilities.
