Vieux Fort South MP, Dr. Kenny Anthony, and his constituency group have donated cleaning supplies to pre-schools in the community.
“We are committed to raising funds to continue to provide support as often as possible,” the former Prime Minister wrote on his official Facebook page on Thursday.
Anthony recalled that at his first online Town Meeting, a Pre-School operator lamented the loss of income and subsequent increased cost of operating her Pre-School during the pandemic.
“Schools were shut down for a while and these pre-school owners and teachers received no government support. When schools re-opened, Pre-School operators had to find the resources to purchase extra cleaning supplies to ensure the children were kept as safe as possible,” he observed.
As a result, the Vieux Fort South MP said he sourced supplies and his constituency group made donations to pre-schools in the constituency.
“Let us all continue to play our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. It is my hope that a new government would review the true cost of the pandemic on small business operators and provide assistance to help these businesses reopen their doors and save those on the brink of collapse,” Anthony stated.
