Former Saint Lucia Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony is hopeful for the safe return of two missing fishers while welcoming the rescue of two others.

Anthony, who is the MP for Vieux Fort South, says the past two weeks have been especially difficult for the fishing community of Vieux-Fort South and their family and friends.

Garvin Emmanuel and Robert ‘Billy Cream’ Joseph are yet to return after leaving Vieux Fort on Thursday, October 21, 2021, for Saint Vincent aboard the vessel ‘Let God Arise 3’.

And on Thursday, October 28, the vessel ”Aqua Man” and its crew, Arthur ”Six” Collymore and Peter ‘Mawiyan” Samuel, were also reported missing when they did not return from their Wednesday journey.

However, Dr. Anthony wrote on his official Facebook page that thankfully, two Good Samaritans travelling through the Caribbean on vacation rescued ‘Six’ and ‘Mawiyan.’

“We are relieved they are safe and in the arms of their loved ones. We continue to pray for the safe return of Garvin and Billy Cream,” he stated.

And the former PM urged all fishers to be extremely cautious and take all steps to equip themselves properly as they venture out in the present conditions.
