A baby suffered burns in a Coolie Town fire Sunday night and four persons were injured when two vehicles collided at La Fargue, Choiseul on Saturday.
Fire service officials say the one-year old male and a 62 year old man suffered from smoke inhalation and second degree burns to the head and back respectively as a result of a residential house fire at Coolie Town, some two miles from the fishing village of Anse La Raye.
A fire service official told St Lucia Times that the blaze was confined to a bedroom.
Residents of Coolie Town say the injured fire victims were taken to hospital by ambulance.
Emergency responders also report that four people were injured Saturday when two vehicles collided about 2:43 pm at La Fargue, Choiseul.
They say the collision involved a Toyota Noah and a Suzuki Swift.
The Vieux Fort fire station responded and transported the four injured individuals to St Jude Hospital.
However according to reports, their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service says it also responded to 12 ‘minor’ weekend motor vehicle collisions in the Northern part of the island.
