Baby, Two Adults Injured In Hit And Run Incident In Castries

A baby in arms, the child’s mother and another pedestrian were injured Friday in a hit and run incident in Castries, emergency officials say.

Videos in the aftermath of the incident were posted on social media.

A senior Saint Lucia Fire Service official told St Lucia Times that it occurred on Coral Street about 3.00 pm.

The official explained that all three individuals sustained injuries when a motorcycle hit them.

He said the mother and child were transported to hospital by private vehicle while the other injured person was conveyed via ambulance.

The motorcyclist is reported to have fled the scene, leaving behind his damaged motorcycle.

Police are investigating.

  1. Most of these Motor Cycles are Stolen From Martinique .The Rider fled the Scene because there’s no Insursnce on that Motor Cycle snd He or She may not have no License

The police could finish with all these ilegal motor bikes that dont have pappers.Come out and stop every bike in Castries,do the same in Rodney Bay and Gross Islet.Park a police vehicle on the side of our main roads and stop every bike that passes by,in one week you will get them all,and finish with the issue.The piroges arrive when the police is sleeping and drop the load on our beaches and even in fisheries ports,and we all sleeping.

  3. If the bike is stolen and has no papers, then it may present a challenge to locate the owener. Howerver, the preceeding comments offer solutions. One comment that I focused on the is the one suggests doing random stops. And the bike should be confiscated if their are no papers to prove ownership, insurance and license.
