An 11-year old boy in Guyana is dead, after bandits shot him on Thursday afternoon.
Local media reports have identified the victim as Anthony Cort, of Lot 612 Packet Corner, āCā Field, Sophia.
According to Stabroek News, two bandits invaded the home of the boy’s neighbour.
At the time, the youngster and his mother were visiting the neighbour, a businesswoman.
However, two gun-toting masked men stormed in about 1.pm.
Stabroek News reported that the intruders took two cellphones, two gold bands, two gold finger rings, one gold chain and $80,000 in cash.
During the robbery one of the bandits discharged a round hitting the child in his left upper shoulder.
The bandits fled afterwards with their loot, while a medical practitioner later pronounced the child dead.
