Body Of Babonneau Man Swept Away By Floodwater Recovered

A family member Tuesday morning reported finding the body of a Babonneau man who was swept away the previous day by floodwater of the Boguis River.

Family members identified the deceased as Gilbert Anthony, also known as ‘Fire’.

He was a resident of Bogius, Baboneau.

A relative said that Anthony, a strong swimmer, was heading home from work at the time when tragedy struck.

His sister, Mary, told St Lucia Times that the Babonneau Fire service spearheaded a search  on Monday.


But she said they did not find Anthony, a father of six.

Mary disclosed that another family member went looking Tuesday morning and found the body.
