Body Of Suspected Vieux Fort Drowning Victim Recovered

Marine police divers have recovered the body of a 41 year old suspected drowning victim of Grace, Vieux Fort.

The deceased has been identified as Adrian Linus Fontenelle.

Family members told St Lucia Times that divers recovered the body on Sunday.

They say Fontenelle and seven others went fishing the previous day aboard a boat and he is reported to have fallen into the sea.

“They saw only his slippers floating,” a family member recalled, adding that the incident occurred near Maria Islets.

The family member told St Lucia Times that Fontelle was a good swimmer.

He was a farmer who loved the ocean and engaged in fishing with his neighbours as a form of recreation, St Lucia Times was informed.
