The operations of the Castries Constituency Council (CCC) are being reviewed, according to a letter from Minister of Culture and Local Government,  Senator Fortuna Belrose, to Castries Mayor, Peterson Francis.

A copy of the letter, dated July 13, 2018, has been obtained by St Lucia Times.

The review was due to begin Wednesday, July 18, 2018, according to the document.

It said that the exercise will assist the Department of Culture and Local Government in undertaking its mandate by ‘reviewing the financial reporting process, the systems of internal control and management of financial risk and the organisation’s  process for monitoring compliance with laws, regulations  and procedures as contained in the CCC Act.’

The letter said that the review process is expected to be completed within six weeks.

It will be undertaken by Ms. Claudia Francis, whom the letter described as ‘a professional with two decades of diverse managerial experience in the government and private sector.’
