A Castries man has been reported missing at sea after a boating mishap Tuesday night, police say.
Law enforcement officials say they received information that two men in a canoe were en route to Vieux Fort from Dennery about 7.00 pm, when a huge wave hit the vessel causing it to capsize.
The two men are said to have been able to cling to the overturned vessel, when a second wave hit.
It was reported that at that point, the men began swimming towards the shore but became separated.
One of the men, a resident of La Ressource, Vieux Fort, managed to make it back to land but his companion is still missing.
A Marine Police vessel was dispatched to the area South of Dennery to conduct a search.
