Castries Man ‘Unresponsive’ After Alleged Physical Assault

A Castries man was taken to Victoria Hospital in an unresponsive state Saturday night after having allegedly been attacked earlier in the day in the capital, an emergency official has reported.

The man was identified as Cornerstone House resident, Hazel Small.

According to reports, Small left the Vigie residence during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Upon his return about 6:00 pm, he is reported to have told another resident of the institution that he had been attacked by two male individuals in Castries.

St Lucia Times was informed that Hazel’s condition deteriorated and an ambulance was called to take him to hospital.

Multiple sources confirmed that he was unresponsive at the time when he was being transported to Victoria Hospital.

There are no further details at this time.
