Castries Mayor Peterson Francis hosted a trade mission from the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) last week, his office has disclosed.
The meeting focused on expanding trade relations between Trinidad and Tobago and this country.
According to a release from the Office of the Castries Mayor, the visit of the Trinidad and Tobago delegation follows Mayor Francis’ visit to their country in May 2019.
While there he met with leading business people, members of the TTMA and local Mayors, in an effort to improve trade, business and cultural ties between the twin Island Republic and Saint Lucia, the release stated.
“The more Castries engages with the world, the stronger our economy will be,” Mayor Francis was quoted as saying.
“We have to create a culture where we as citizens need to take the approach of not just wanting, but also building partnerships so the country can benefit. I am delighted that I was able to meet with key stakeholders and it led to this visiting trade mission. I am hopeful that ties will be strengthened with key trade and economic organizations, investment opportunities will be explored and business relations between both countries will be strengthened,” the Castries Mayor said.
