Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has congratulated Daren Sammy on ‘another milestone’ – being appointed to the board of Cricket West Indies (CWI).
“Please join me in congratulating our very own Daren Sammy on another milestone. Added to his already long list of achievements, Daren has been appointed to the board of Cricket West Indies. Keep making us proud brother,” Chastanet wrote Wednesday on his official Facebook page.
Sammy, a two-time T20 World Cup-winning former West Indies captain has been appointed as an impartial non-member director of the CWI board.
The choice was taken by the Cricket West Indies Board throughout a gathering held on June 17.
He joins Trinidadian Lawyer Debra Coryat-Patton and Jamaican Surgeon and College Administrator, Dr. Akshai Mansingh, who had been each re-appointed to serve a second time period.
The 37 year old Saint Lucian national described his new appointment as an honour, adding that he he is excited and grateful to serve.
