Chastanet lauds people’s campaign

Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, has paid tribute to the people’s campaign which resulted in his party’s 11-6 election victory.

“We were only following you and we said that we will be your servants,” Chastanet told a huge crowd at last night’s victory rally in Micoud North.

He said he was reminded of a man from his constituency who told him:

“Mr. Chastanet, I put you there and don’t forget that!”

The Prime Minister declared that he will not forget.

Chastanet recalled meeting some people from the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) who asked his opinion as to why the party lost the election.

He said he told them that the people of this country were tired and wanted something fresh.

Chastanet told the rally that the SLP never had a message for the people of this country, except to say that the UWP and Allen Chastanet are bad.

“The people of Saint Lucia said they were not going to eat that anymore,” the new Prime Minister declared.
