Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has praised two females in his cabinet whom he described as strong women.
And he also lauded four private sector women in a post on his official Facebook page.
Chastanet’s words of commendation follow his address to the nation on Tuesday.
The address outlined this country’s COVID-19 response.
“I was thankful to have been joined by two strong women within my Cabinet, Minister for Health Hon. Mary Isaac and Minister for Education Hon. Dr. Gale TC Rigobert,” Chastanet stated.
He said he is “so proud” to have them as part of the cabinet of ministers.
” It would be remiss of me to not acknowledge the fact that the leading members of the Private Sector Organizations who joined the update last evening in support of the measures the Government was taking against COVID-19 were all women,” he observed.
They were Chamber of Commerce President Karen Fontenelle, St Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association President Karolin Troubetzkoy, St Lucia Manufacturers Association President Marguerite Desir, St Lucia Bankers Association President Carol Mangal and President of the St. Lucia Medical and Dental Association Dr. Merle Clarke.
“Thank you all for being an inspiration and for your great leadership and participation at this crucial and most challenging time in our country’s history,” the Prime Minister said.
