Prime Minister Allen Chastanet on a tour of Phase One of the Dennery Flood Mitigation Project, has asserted that a ‘major transformation’ is ongoing in the community.
Chastanet also lauded the work on the project.
“I must share how impressed I was with the the quality of work being done by the contractor and his team,” Chastanet said.
He made the comments on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.
The PM observed that the Flood Mitigation Project mainly aims to reduce persistent flooding in Dennery Village.
But he said it will also address the issue of mosquito breeding sites caused by poor drainage systems.
“As often as I can, I try my best to physically visit ongoing projects,” the PM explained.
He said the purpose of the visits is to witness progress first hand.
But he also said it gives the workers and benefiting residents an opportunity to share their feedback.
