Chastanet Says People Confused Over COVID-19 Confinement Hours

Opposition leader Allen Chastanet, asserting there’s  public confusion over  COVID-19 confinement hours, has urged citizens to make it home with time to spare and ensure they are not caught off-guard.

“We know a lot of people are confused about the Government’s ‘confinement’ hours and how it’s being communicated and shared, especially during this holiday season,” the former Prime Minister observed on his official Facebook page.

“Remember to be safe this season, drink responsibly, don’t drink and drive, mask up and avoid huge crowds. Have a Blessed season and Stay Safe,” the Micoud South MP urged.

Chastanet’s remarks came as Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs Minister Moses Jn Baptiste announced adjusted protocols for Christmas and New Year.

Jn Baptiste encouraged everyone to be even more vigilant this Christmas season due to the threat of the Omicron variant and, on behalf of the government, urged personal, family, and community responsibility to stop the spread of COVID-19.

“We also recognise that during this difficult time some long-held traditions will have to be curtailed or greatly reduced. This will continue to cause dislocation of families and the community in general,” the Vieux Fort North MP stated.

  1. Chas you are absolutely correct about St Lucians are confused. We are all confused about all the money you borrowed and we don’t know what you did with it.

  2. Chastanet. ,.I hate to respond to your idiotic statements but as said earlier you are trying your utmost to remain relevant .

You forget you called a shut down of the country today for tomorrow is 2020 , with absolutely so consultation and warning to the masses while your friends , family and foreigners knew and stocked up for the shut down

While the ordinary citizenry stayed with no cooking gas , no food or medication for days. Farmers wwere not able to tend to their tend to their flocks , and fisher was stuck with van loads of dish they could not sell , store or even give away.

You need to ask St.Lucian to forgive you for the crimes committed against them.

You should never be a spoke person for our beloved party .What a waste!!

  3. Grade 1 Student, would you be so kind to indicate to e and others the specifics of “the financial assult ( of course, you meant assault) the country suffered and is suffering from by the hands of the previous administration”. It is one thing to parrot every bit of nonsense you hear but its different to be forthcoming with the facts. Stop spreading propaganda. That’s what you did to win an election and now you cant get a thing going in the country. Bloody hypocrite. Grade 1 Student my foot.

  4. That is the problem with IDIOTS like Hahaha (even laughing at himself), John Smith, The Crow (just crowing idiotic comments), Rude (the comments suits the name , so well done on the choice of name) and Bun bad mind ( another suitable name based on the comment) – they are never able to deal with the issue at hand. Like true idiots, they resort to calling names, dismissing the person and using obscenities. Chastanet said ““We know a lot of people are confused about the Government’s ‘confinement’ hours and how it’s being communicated and shared, especially during this holiday season,” and he goes on to advice people “Remember to be safe this season, drink responsibly, don’t drink and drive, mask up and avoid huge crowds. Have a Blessed season and Stay Safe”. Now what is wrong with these statements? If Hahaha, John Smith, The Crow, Rude and Bun bad mind have a problem with these statements, they should say what’s wrong with them or either one of them. But then again, I understand that these unintelligent, idiotic people behaved true to form. In fact, they are such idiots that I wonder if they even read the article – they saw Chastanet and they jump to attack and that makes them idiots. Or perhaps their comprehension is so poor that they read the article but did not get it and that makes them unintelligent. The Crow is particularly known for making unintelligent, idiotic statements on this site – he certainly needs help.

  5. Some may be confused over the protocols. Nevertheless, no one is confused about the financial assult the country suffered and is suffering from by the hands of the previous administration.

  6. Yet here y’all are. The master troll always gets it right.

Confine your labor hacks minister of confinement as for me, I’m not a prisoner so these protocols aren’t for me or my family and friends. I don’t celebrate Xmas but I do love the company of light beings.

Fuljoy the season my people and don’t allow anyone to cramp yourself. Tell mussa of confinement and his cabal to go lick a cactus. We are a free people and that’s dat.

  7. Chastenet stop being a jackass and try in stead to unite St Lucian in this season of goodwill.

Instead encourage people to obey the protocol ,be safe and vaccinate.

Donald Trump has changed his tone you will be best advised to do the same in this season.

  8. This idiot wants to be relevant but awa! Not with share like that!. Why UWPs stick with such an ignoramus is beyond me.

  9. I agree. Haters will hate but what you said Chas is correct.
While everyone is out in the road shopping last minute, how are they supposed to hear about the “supposedly” confinement. Mee baguy.
Some people already how teereeree. Choops tuhn, Moosah! As a leader, you need to work on the timing and delivery of your communication to facilitate a better reception from the populace.
