Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has cited multiple benefits from his government’s road improvement programme.
“Better roads mean improved safety for motorists and pedestrians, employment creation during construction, improved national productivity due to less traffic congestion, increased property values for residents in the areas where roads are improved,” he asserted in a post on his official Facebook page Thursday.
Chastanet said it also means money in the pockets of drivers who won’t have to spend as much on tyres and suspension parts.
He disclosed that the Road Improvement & Maintenance Program IV is the largest single investment in roads being made by any Government in Saint Lucia.
The initiative aims rehabilitate approximately 81km of roads in various communities.
