Ciceron Day Care attacked by thieves

The Ciceron Day Care was attacked by thieves some time between last night and early morning.

The intruders gained entry into the building by ripping off burglar bars to a small  window in the children’s toilet.

They thereafter ransacked the place.

Staff of the institution told the Times that they received a ‘nasty surprise’ when they showed up for work this morning.

“Papers were all over the place,” one staff member told the Times.

The thieves went into the refrigerator and stole food items that were intended to provide meals for the thirty-seven children who attend the  Ciceron Day Care.

According to information obtained by the Times, the intruders made off with ground turkey, meat, cheese, two containers of ice cream and other items.

“They took every piece of meat,” a staff member lamented.

The bandits also made off with items that were intended to be put into Christmas hampers for the needy in the community of Ciceron.

The break-in at the Ciceron Day Care comes amid concern about a spate of break ins at learning institutions in Saint Lucia.
