The City Police recorded a total of fifty arrests for indecent exposure in the Saint Lucia capital between March 2018 and June 2019, according to figures released recently.
Indecent exposure accounted for most of the arrests followed by 28 cases of the possession of dangerous weapons and 26 for disorderly behavior.
There were also 22 cases of stealing from persons and a similar number of unlawful assaults.
Eighteen individuals were held for the possession of cannabis and there were six cases of wounding among the figures released at a news conference.
The total number of cases recorded were 245 while 219 were brought before the court and 26 resulted in cautions being issued by the City Police.
The City Police said they won 145 cases that were brought before the court.
Two cases were sent to mediation, while a similar number of cases resulted in the court cautioning the individuals involved.
Twenty-four cases are pending in the trial court, with 34 pending in the Magistrate’s Court.
The City Police have disclosed that in the future they plan to engage in more frequent stop and search exercises, property searches and traffic checks in cooperation with the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
