City Police nab chain snatcher

Two City police officers are reported to have arrested a youth who grabbed a gold chain from the neck of a female cruise ship visitor  today and tried to escape.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 12:30 pm in the vecinity of the Castries Market.
An eyewitness told the Times that the woman victim was part of a group of about eight visitors when she was attacked.
City Police officers on the scene are reported to have held the chain snatcher and handed him over to the Beat and Patrol division of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF).
