Customs Officials in France last week confiscated 256 kilograms of cocaine that arrived in the North of the country from the French West Indies and arrested two dock workers and the driver of a container truck in which the drugs were found.

Martinique 1 Ere quoted Prosecutor, Carole Etienne, as saying that the drugs were hidden among legitimate goods in the shipping container.

“The cocaine seized represents a value of more than 8.6 million euros on the illicit drug market,” Etienne said in a statement.

The three men law enforcement officers arrested in connection with the discovery of the drugs were charged for the offences of importing narcotics in an organised gang and criminal association.
