Coconut Bay Presents Common Entrance Scholarships

Press Release:– Marking its sixth year, Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa presented Common Entrance Scholarship Awards Programme bursaries to four families, children of staff members, who are attending the St. Joseph’s Convent and the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary Schools.

Administrated by the Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa’s Sports and Social Committee, the Common Entrance Scholarship Awards assist qualified students in meeting the initial cost of Secondary School Education.

Awardees were chosen based on merit and need with Kayannah Fanus daughter of Macrina Fanus, and Gianna Joseph daughter of Gina Peterson-Joseph along with Ridge Josliff son of Jason Poyotte, and Kershawn J. Charles son of Cuthbert Charles receiving cheques up to EC $1500.00 at a presentation ceremony held on July 31, 2019.

“Education is the key to success,” said Ms. Curtisha Percel, President of the Sports & Social Committee in her remarks congratulating recipients and expressing the hope that such assistance would motivate both parents and students to aim for excellence.

“Our support for this wonderful scholarship programme is part of our ongoing commitment and contribution to our community and the education of our youth,” said Zachary Frangos, General Manager of Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa.

“This investment in education nurtures its benefits for every individual’s social enrichment and economic development now and in the future.”

Coconut Bay is committed to supporting the educational advancement of Saint Lucia’s children as well as facilitating assistance to targeted groups and individuals in the south of the island focusing on youth, the elderly as well as the education and health sectors.

In addition to the Annual Common Entrance Scholarship Awards, the resort’s philanthropic programs include the Cocoland Little Leaders Programme, Christmas Outreach, and the St. Jude Hospital ‘Rubber Duck Race for Charity.’
